  3. Login and Password Security • Before Login you may access only Help and Exit Functions. • Login with a valid User Name and Password to access any of the functions on the Menu Screen.

  4. Comm Setup - Watlow IrDA Link • Select communication link (serial cable or IrDA Infrared Comm) • Setup communication parameters such as Baud rate, Parity, Data bits, Stop bits, Station Offset etc. • Select Comm Driver (Watlow SD or 96)

  5. Setup Page - Configuration • Setup Parameters help identify input/output devices and how the controller should function. • The OEM or system designer should setup most of these parameters. • The Configuration can be saved in InstantHMI and restored later to the same or different controller.

  6. Process Monitor Screen • Monitor Process Value, Set Point and Alarm Status. • Adjust Set Point by units (left up/down Spinner controls) or by decimal increments (right up/down Spinner controls). • Set Auto/Manual mode and Manual Power. • Observe desired variables on a Bar Graph.

  7. Operations Parameters (Default) Operations Page (Custom) • Review / Change Operational Parameters such as Autotune, PID parameters, Alarm Set Points etc. InstantHMI hides the irrelevant tags from the Operations • Parameters Page to keep the Operator focussed on the relevant parameters.

  8. Programming (Custom Operations Page) • For each parameter P1, P2, ..., P20 tap on the I (Input) button and select ‘None’ or one of the displayed Tag variables. • This will configure a Customized Operations Page on the Watlow controller containing up to 20 variables to be viewed on the Palm. • InstantHMI also provides a default Operations Page.

  9. Factory Page and Diagnostics • Monitor Output process values (record it on the Palm and study later in a Trend Graph). • View important controller information such as serial number, software version etc. • Tap on Diagnostics button to view the Diagnostics Screen.

  10. Troubleshooting Script • Interactive selection of System Components (Display, Communication, Outputs, Alarms, Control, and Errors) and observed symptoms (Indication). • Select from displayed Probable Causes to focus on Corrective Actions displayed on Palm. • InstantHMI Desktop companion software can customize your Troubleshooting Script.
