  1. What Is The Process Of Refining Crude Oil? Crude oil (or unrefined petroleum) is a black to yellow colored liquid, naturally occurring under specific conditions beneath the earth's surface. It is organic in nature, containing hydrocarbons and other materials. Crude oil is extracted and refined to turn them into stable and usable products and fuels. What are the uses of crude oil? Crude oil, after refining, can be used to make various products which run the modern world like gasoline. According to MCX crude oil tips, almost 50% of crude oil is turned into gasoline. 40% of refined crude oil is used for liquid petroleum gases, diesel, kerosene, jet fuels and home heating oils. The rest of 10% is used as other residual fuel oils. How is crude oil refined? Refining of crude oil can be a complex chemical engineering process. But the first work which

  2. comes before this is extracting the oil itself from the ground. For this equipment such as gravimeters and magnetometers are used. Wells are drilled into underground reservoirs and then taken out. Let us get into a more detailed study of refinement by FreeMCX crude oil tips. ● The Before Treatment: The crude oil distillation unit (CDU) distills the raw crude oil. But before that comes field separation. This is the first and before step, of removing preexisting gases, liquids and impurities that are harmful and corrosive in nature. The field separator is a large vessel-type place where the oil is put to rest and the gravity separation helps differentiate them. ● Removing Salts: Next comes the removal of organic salts. Crude oil generally contains salts like chlorides of sodium, magnesium, and calcium. If these salts are not removed high temperatures in the next processes will cause hydrolysis which may lead to the formation of corrosive acids. Some may form residue and poison the catalysts, according to the mix crude oil tips. It is also a three-stage process of heating, mixing and settling it. ● The Fire Heating: Following the process of removing salts, the crude oil is heated again with some hot distillates only to be heated again at a very high temperature in a furnace having a temperature of about 398° C. Desalted crude oil goes into ‘atmospheric distillation column’ or ADU and ‘vacuum distillation column’ or VDO. This process forms products like gasoline and other fuels. The heavy fraction of crude oil that is extracted from atmospheric distillation column requires a very high temperature. In order to keep it from cracking, the fraction is further fractioned under vacuums. ● The Atmospheric Process: This process has other small procedures under it, mainly – preheating the desalted crude oil, pre- flash, further distillation and stabilizing the naphtha. The desalted oil is heated in two parallel heaters and then goes into the flash drum, furnace. ● The Vacuum Process: This is almost the final step where the residue crude oil is put into several vacuum fractions as it is heavy in nature and is prone to cracking, comes as Free MCX crude oil tips. This vacuum is maintained with a three-stage steam ejector. Website: http://www.crudeoperator.com Email:info@crudeoperator.com
