  1. Central Indiana Section Report William R. Kassebaum, P.E. Chair Region 4 Meeting January 27-28, 2007 Marriott Hotel, Chicago

  2. Highlights of 2006 Activities • 2006 was a busy year in Central Indiana • Children’s Museum(NEW), International Science &Engr. Fair, TISP, Consultants’ Network, Senior Member Rodeo, Baseball Game, new GOLD group, Tours and Presentations by IAS/PES, CIECN, and PACE. • Two most notable activities • Natl’t Engineers Week event at Children’s Museum • Lead by Bob Evanich and Alan Stillerman, this event attracted many IEEE volunteers to the Children’s Museum in downtown Indianapolis to help expose kids to the engineering in a fun and meaningful way. Lots of great PR and happy kids & parents! • Teacher In-Service Program (TISP) • Lead by Brad Snodgrass, CIS hosted a train the trainer event for IEEE volunteers and several TISP sessions to help take TISP lesson plans into the school systems. • The group has established a productive relationship with the Brownsburg Challenger Center to host trainings and is now reaching out to several more school systems in central Indiana. • We feel that this is a great program to help educate K-12 (and particularly 6-9 th grade) students about engineering so we motivate them to see engineering as a fun and rewarding career to aim for.
