Call to Action for Laity • Practice the means of grace • Serve within your congregation by implementing the 16 drivers of vitality • Carry out our 4 denominational foci: new church starts and redevelopment, develop leadership, be in ministry with the poor and help improve global health • Measure the 5 denominational goals • Pray for your pastor and work with the superintendent, conference staff and bishop to grow in unity

  30. From the Council of finance and Administration “Your apportionment dollars make possible all of the healthy (vital) church programs. In addition they pay for the health care of the Conference retired pastors, help support our Conference new church starts an support all of the national and international mission and relief efforts of the General Conference.”

  31. World Service Fund Heart and Hand House in Alabama’s Upper Sand Mountain Parish - The parish builds homes for those in need, and sells the homes to the homeowner for the cost of the materials. The World Service Fund apportionment is at work all around the world, working with the poor, growing congregations, working to prevent disease and nurturing leaders.

  32. Africa University Africa University grows drought resistant crops to help local farmers The Africa University Fund apportionment provides education to students all over Africa. Africa University is the only General Conference approved degree granting university in Africa.

Black College Fund Wiley College students traveled to Kenya to work at Maua Methodist Hospital teaching children, orphaned by AIDS, skills to provide for their families The United Methodist Church and the Black College Fund continue to help thousands of students reach their full potential. It takes money and recommitment to make this happen

Ministerial Education Fund United Methodist hospice chaplains serve through Pet Peace of Mind program The Ministerial Education Fund apportionment affects the quality of pastors serving in The United Methodist Church. Funding quality education in our seminaries is, undoubtedly, our most important investment in the future.
