  1. Organizational Meeting • Organizing Committee • Antonio Boveia (Chicago, ATLAS) • Walter Giele (Fermilab, theorist) • Rob Harris (Fermilab, CMS) • Don Lincoln (Fermilab, CMS) • Steve Mrenna (Fermilab, Pythia guru, CMS) • Mike Shupe (Arizona, ATLAS) • Today • Scope • Schedule • Name

  2. Goals • Identify generations as high priority analysis • Engage younger theoretical community • Put it back on the map

  3. Workshop, not conference • If over 50 people or $100k to DoE, triggers DoE involvement • Here at Fermilab • Who to invite? • Who should speak? • Registration fee? (Modest)

  4. Name • Compositeness ‘13 • Preons ‘13 • Generations ’13 • Need to design a flier.

  5. Date • La Thuile 23 Feb – 1 Mar • Moriond EWK: 2 – 9 March • Moriond QCD: 9 – 13 March • Aspen 10 – 16 Mar • EDIT2013 12 – 22 Mar • DIS 22 – 26 Apr • (LHCP 2013) 13 – 18 May • 8th Les Houches Workshop: Physics at TeV Colliders 3 – 21 June • Fermilab User’s Meeting 12 – 13 June • Lepton Photon 24 – 29 Jun • Snowmass 29 Jul – 6 Aug • CMS Week 18 – 22 Feb, 8 – 12 APR, Upgrades 3 – 7 Jun, 9 – 13 Sep • ATLAS: 4 – Feb, 17 – 21 Jun, 18 – 22 Mar, 22 – 26 Apr, 20 – 24 May, 29 Jul – 2 Aug • Snomass EWK 28 – 20 Feb, Energy 3 – 6 Apr, Theory 29 – 31 May, 30 Jun – 3 July This information visualized on next page

  6. Possible dates March 25 – 31 [Easter] April 15 – 20 April 29 – May 4 May 4 – May 10 July 8 – 26 (gets near SM) Snowmass

  7. Scope/Topics • Overview talks: • Theoretical talks should be accessible to experimentalists • Experimental talks should go beyond the “we set a limit for models X, Y, Z” • What balance should there be theory/experiment? • Half day theory / half day experiment? • Workshop needs to have lecture & conversation time. • 2.5 days long?

  8. Schedule Day 1 • Welcome • Overview talks • contact interaction quark • contact interaction lepton • excited quark • excited lepton • Z’ & W’ • b’ & t’ Day 2 • Overview • preon models • problems (why stalled?) • CKM/FCNC constraints • quantum knots? • Prospects for • 13 TeV • (g-2) • Mu2e I’m thinking we should mix the topics across days

  9. People to Invite Theory Tim Tait Oscar Greenberg HaimHarari? Sundance Bilson-Thompson? http://arxiv.org/pdf/1109.0080.pdf [Kauffman, UIC] Intensity frontier (g – 2) Mu2e • CMS • LennieApanesevitch, jets • Yuri Maravin & PD, excited lepton • Nikos Varelas:  Jets, contact intAndreas Hinzmann: jets, contact int, exotica mj management Anwar Bhatti:  jets, contact int, CDF & CMSMaximeGouzevitch:  jets, excited quarks, QCDJohn Paul Chou:  Exotica Management • ATLAS • FrederikRuehr • Tevatron?
