  3. Today, there simply aren’t enough people with the right skills to fill the growing demand for computer scientists and computer engineers. This is a critical problem because technology holds the key to progress, and to addressing many of the world’s most pressing problems,including health care, education, global inequality and climate change.   4. What are Computing Careers all about? #1: Problem Solving. Use analytical thinking and an understanding of technology to solve problems in all areas of life. #2: Creativity. Invent brand new ways of using computers, and design graphics and interfaces for electronic devices. #3: Teamwork. Combine skills, personality and expertise with others to solve complex problems in creative ways.

Combine Your Interests • The program: Study the fundamentals of Computer Science and learn to design and build innovative computer applications. • Bachelor of Computer Science Choose one of 6 areas of specialization, or minor in another field to combine your interests. • What’s next? Graduates work in every industry, from software, gaming and app development to finance, government and healthcare. Some even go on to medical school!

Combine Your Interests • The program: Learn key business skills like finance, marketing, accounting and management. • Bachelor of Information Systems You will also to learn to develop and manage the technology and information systems required to support a modern business. • What’s next? Graduates take on crucial roles in industries like banking and security, where they manage projects and provide leadership that links business with IT.

Combine Your Interests • The program: Apply engineering concepts to the design and maintenance of reliable, safe and efficient software systems. • Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering Considered an Engineering degree, students are eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer upon graduation. • What’s next? Software engineers are particularly qualified to work on “safety-critical” applications, such as those found in the aviation, medical and energy industries.

  15. The Co-op Experience One BCS student spent his first summer term working with the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) in Montreal. He took raw satellite data and turned it into a visual animation used in museums and during tours of the CSA!
