  3. Horizon 2020 • Challenge driven actions: • Climate action under Societal Challenge 5 • Blue Growth Focus Area • Excellent Science: • Research Infrastructures • European Research Council • Marie Skłodowska-Curie bottom-up/top-down bottom-up

  4. Horizon 2020 • Aims at developing and delivering a strategic framework and mechanisms to prioritise polar science, optimise the use of polar infrastructure, and enhance coordination with international research organisations and programmes

  5. H2020 WP 2016-17 Arctic package (40 M€) along three main areas: • - Boost an integrated Arctic observing system • - Impact of Arctic changes on weather/climate of Northern hemisphere; • - Climate impacts on Arctic permafrost (coastal areas): threats and opportunities. Support Action to prepare the future ice-core drilling campaign in Antarctica (2 M€)
