  4. COPING WITH CONSTRUCTION • Goal: to minimize the impacts • Closing Library’s First Floor • Work begins 14 December 2009 • Expected completion is end of July 2010

  5. COPING WITH CONSTRUCTION • Access • Front Porch Elevator: 2nd Floor Landing • Between Floors (2nd & Basement) • Internal Elevator • Central Stairwell • Third Floor – same as now

  6. COPING WITH CONSTRUCTION • Relocation of Services: • Circulation • Reference • ILL • Library Instruction

  9. COPING WITH CONSTRUCTION • Noisy: M-F (7 am to 6 pm?) • Temporary “Outages” • Lack of study space • Fewer PCs & other equipment • Frayed nerves?
