2. District Level 3 year goals to be reached by June 2016 Graduation Rate • At least 93% of students will graduate. The current rate is 88% • 100% of graduates will have a plan for college or career. Mastery and Passing • The overall proficiency rate on the N.Y.S. grades 3-8 tests and Regents  exams will be either 90% or increase by 15% from 2013 performance levels. • The overall mastery rate on N.Y.S. grades 3-8 tests and Regents exams will increase by 12% from 2013 performance levels. Participation • 100% of students will participate in at least one community service activity. College and Career Ready • At least 90% of K-4  students will be at or above grade level in reading and math.  • 100% of 8th graders will enter high school with a career plan. • 100% of graduates will have earned three college credits or a career technical endorsement.

5. Target #1 The overall proficiency rate in the NYS Grades 5-8 tests in ELA and Math will increase by 5% in 2013-2014 from the 2012-2013 test scores. How this correlates to student numbers – we need 21 more students to score a level 3 or 4 in ELA and Math in grades 5-8 (approximately 5 per grade).

6. Target #2 On the benchmark pre-assessment tests in all subject areas, we had a ____% passing rate. By the benchmark post-assessment tests, we will raise our passing rate to ____%. % numbers will be determined on the October 11th staff development day

7. Target Strategies • Use the benchmark assessments as a predictor for the NYS assessments in ELA and Math. Teachers will use the benchmark assessment data to drive instruction. • Through professional development, increase teacher awareness of how to increase literacy in reading and math in their content areas.

8. Action Steps – Target #1 • Teachers will give pre-assessment benchmark tests by 10/1/13. Mid assessments will be given by 1/25/14 and post assessments will be given by 6/20/14. • Time will be given on the 10/11/13, 1/31/14 and 6/27/14 Professional Development Days for analysis of benchmark data.

Action Steps – Target #2 part 1 • Our school wide targets will be our focus for the year – forefront of each meeting • Teaching coaching will support targets • The development of a resource binder to share strategies and best practices • Faculty meeting focus – each department will share article to discuss each month • Superintendent Conference Day training • Discussion at department and grade level meetings • Education of staff about RTI and how to provide teacher interventions.

10. Action Steps – Target #2 part 2 • Continue to reach out the parents to share target goals and build communication. Time will be scheduled for phone calls on conference days. • Create a professional content area library is every classroom • Share literacy strategies with home through quaterly newsletter • Reading clubs in grades 7 and 8 • Positive signage in the hallways • Begin research on a new screening tool for math and reading literacy. Determine if additional reading support is needed at the middle school level for the 2014-2015 school year. • Lunch intervention Program and 9th period intervention
