European Network for Mental Health Promotion – Training & Implementation Support Originates from EU concerns on mental health:  High and rising rates of mental illness Problems in treatment delivery Move from treatment to prevention and promotion The development of the settings approach The Mental Health Pact A group of (mostly) workplace based organisations become interested in mental health issues: BAUA (D), WRC (Irl), THL (Fi), ERSI (Es), FRK (Au), eWorx (Gr)  - experts support from different fields e.g. Paul Baart for workplace Life course approach & multiple languages

The idea for ENMHP Need for development of a range of tools in relation to mental health promotion: Toolkit of methods and approaches to MHP (Google search on ‘mental health promotion tools’ yields 14,500,0000 results, PRoMenPol) • Training for professionals in MHP(only few courses targeted at specific setting) • Support for non-professionals in MHP(only few supports for teachers, managers or elder care workers)
