  5. WKU Study Abroad Program • In 2011-12, 1628 WKU Students studied on 6 different continents with the top 3 being: • Europe • Asia • Africa • 317 course sections offered in 2011-12 • A variety of trips • Short trips over the summer or January terms • Semester long • Year long

WKU Admissions Requirements (September 20, 2012) • Completed Kentucky Pre-College • Curriculum • ≥ 20 composite on the ACT • Or • ≥ 940 score (math + critical reading) on the SAT • Or • ≥ 2.5 unweighted high school GPA • Or • Composite Admissions Index score of ≥ 65 • (calculated from GPA and test score) • (writing component on the ACT and SAT • are currently not evaluated)

WKU Admissions Process • Complete an Admissions Application • Electronic (www.wku.edu/apply) • $40 Application Fee • Submit High School Transcripts • Current transcript when you apply • Final transcript after graduation • Submit ACT/SAT Score Reports It is recommended that you submit an online application by mid-November during your senior year *High school transcripts and ACT/SAT scores are not required for GED graduates, transfer students that have earned >= 24 hours of college work, readmit students, and non-degree seeking students*

ScholarshipOpportunities • Beginning Freshman Scholarship Deadline is • January 15th • www.wku.edu/scholarship • Awards range from a few hundred dollars all the way up to full-ride scholarships • Several different types of awards • Academic • Leadership • Diversity • College Heights Foundation • Departmental • Athletic • (13% of all student financial assistance awarded at WKU in 2011-2012 were in the form of a scholarship)

Miscellaneous Information/Deadlines • March 31 is the priority deadline for the housing agreement • Important to get in as early as possible for preferences • $150 deposit • www.wku.edu/housing • Scheduling an Academic Transitions Program • ATP is New Student Orientation • Required for all incoming students • You will build your class schedule that day • www.wku.edu/atp
