Why should someone become certified or attend Tier 1 of this program? • Testing performed by certified technicians can help provide a greater confidence in the test results provided. • To gain a better understanding of the test methods, and the meaning of the results they provide. • Ownership of certification belongs to the individual and remains with the individual should they change employers. • Flooring manufacturers, many project specifications now require that testing be performed by an ICRI Certified Concrete Slab Moisture Testing Technician.

  5. ICRI Certification – Concrete Slab Moisture Testing Program What is the ICRI Concrete Slab Moisture Testing Certification Program Based Upon? An Educational Program and Performance Exam on Four (4) ASTM standard test methods: • 1) Moisture Vapor Emission Rate (MVER) - ASTM F 1869 • 2) Concrete Relative Humidity - ASTM F 2170 • 3) Electronic Moisture Meter – ASTM F 2659 • 4) Concrete Surface pH testing - ASTM F 710, Section 5.2

ICRI Certification – Concrete Slab Moisture Testing Program Concrete Slab Moisture Testing Program Program has two tiers: Tier 1 (Educational Program) • Educational Session: 3 to 4 hours -- Written Examination -- Certificate of Achievement Tier 2 (Full Certification Program) -- Educational Program: Ed. Session and Written Exam • Performance Examination • Certificate and Wallet Card (5 – yr. certification)

  8. ICRI Certification – Concrete Slab Moisture Testing Program Written Examination One hour to complete Closed book All questions are multiple choice Total of 40 questions Four sections - must pass each section with 60% correct Overall passing grade of 70% correct

ICRI Certification – Concrete Slab Moisture Testing Program Tier 1 – Educational Program (no previous experience required) Receive Certificate of Achievement upon successful completion of the written examination Tier 2 – Full Certification (prior testing experience or workshop training required) ICRI Concrete Slab Moisture Testing Technician - Grade 1 (5 year certification) Technicians passing all phases of the full certification program will receive a certificate, wallet card, and if desired, a listing on the ICRI Certified Concrete Slab Moisture Testing Technician website database
