  2. WARM-UP • Brainstorm a list of factors that might affect our town's ability to provide water to its citizens.

  3. Where does water come from anyways?

  4. Ground Water • What issues affect the quality of ground water? • Depletion and/or salizination of aquifers, pollution, access and delivery issues, utilization rights 

  5. Rivers • What issues affect Rivers? • Pollution (industrial and recreational), flooding, dams, fishing, commercial uses, boats

  6. Oceans • What issues affect oceans? • Salination, pollution, commercial uses, disasters (oil spills), ships, ports/harbors

  7. Rain • What issues might affect rain? • Pollution, drought, collection, urbanization

  8. Water Technologies • What technologies are used to manage the water supply, including controlling use, quality of water, and delivery mechanisms? • Pipelines, desalinization,dams, irrigation, recycling, purification.

  9. Water Policies • What policies and programs have governments instated to manage water? • Renewable resource programs (brown water), building codes to prevent increased water runoff, wetlands management, etc.

  10. Water Economics How might water affect the economy?
