  1. Common Telemarketing Mistakes to Avoid Telemarketing, be it for B2B or B2C selling, is a very effective method of getting more business. However, there are certain mistakes that every telemarketer needs to avoid. • •Telemarketers need to avoid coming across as fake friendly. It is best if they treat the call as a normal business call and get on with it. They shouldn’t beat around the bush in a flowery language and instead come across as professional and let the prospect know why they called and then proceed. • •Another common telemarketing mistake is talking in great lengths about what the company is and what it offers. There is no harm in letting the prospect know about the company but the idea is to help the prospects with answers or to pitch a product. Focus of the discussion needs to be on what the prospect can get out of the call. Telemarketing calls should be about the prospects and not just about the company. • •Some telemarketers make the mistake of giving up too soon. They close the call as soon as they hear the first objection. It is not a good thing to do. Instead, telemarketers should try and be persuasive. They should know how to turn that objection into an opportunity for opening up new ways to convince the prospect and make a sale. It might be that the prospect won’t agree for a purchase or won’t agree for an appointment but at least the telemarketer will have something done for the future. • •Another mistake that every reputed agency for telemarketing in UK avoids is not knowing much about the prospects. It is very important to gather as much information as possible about the prospect before a call is made. This helps telemarketing agencies analyse what products will fit the interest of the prospect to whom the call is being made. Calls need to be personalised and crafted in a manner that meets the needs of customers. • •Being passive won’t help in telemarketing. It is not recommended to be discouraged as soon as a prospect hints disinterest in the call. They need to stay active so that the situation can be influenced. Telemarketers need to understand that rejection is very common in telemarketing. It is part of the equation that should be brought into good use. It is a good idea to offer a callback in case a prospect is unavailable. Telemarketers should ask them the appropriate time when they can receive the call. • •Every agency for telemarketing in UK will swear by the fact that it is inappropriate to interrupt the prospect or talk over them. Telemarketers should let the prospects speak. If they are interrupted and if the telemarketer cuts them in between to speak, then it will leave a bad impression.

  2. In order to avoid these mistakes, it is recommended to hire a reputed telemarketing service in UK. There are several agencies that offer telemarketing service in UK so always do some research and choose one that suits your requirements and budget.
