Employer Investment Fund - round 1 Life Sciences SME Skills • Telephone campaign on SME training needs • 7 workshops with multiplier organisations • Association of British Healthcare Industries; • NE Process Industries Cluster; • Bio Industry Association; • Ethical Medicines Industry Group and • One Nucleus(East, NW & London) • Mapping competencies to job roles • 5 technical assessments with SMEs • Identify & map training to SME competency framework • Produce a report on findings

Employer Investment Fund - round 2 (proposal) Mobilising Life Science Skills for Growth • Employer Fora • employer-led for leadership, partnership and delivery of the Life Sciences Action Plan • Skills Gateway • the Skills for Life Sciences Gateway as the ‘window on the world’ of life sciences and to engage widely the community of employers and stakeholders • to promote and accelerate skills solutions, products and services, especially the large high-tech SME population • Market Testing • to stimulate business intelligence and inform the sustainability of bespoke interventions and future GIF/EIF submissions by industry-led action groups • Strategic Research • employer reviewed publications of labour market research and future skills scenarios (in collaboration with professional bodies and others) for the employment needs for growth in life sciences and its education and training provision
