THE TRANSFORMATION IS YET TO HAPPEN • Competition not yet in evidence • Impact of data (KIS, DHLE) not yet clear • Social Media impact only beginning • The ‘Good Times’ for funding over, with no price competition YET • OIA hit headlines! • 10% increase in complaints • 29% - too few contact hours • 20% - unhappy with teaching

  5. OUR RESPONSE IS CRUCIAL • Act as one university: one body of staff • Students as customers and partners • Need to demonstrate VFM • Efficiency • Focus on quality interactions • Consider the whole student experience • Why choose us? What is our proposition?

  6. SHAPING OUR FUTURE • Need to be purposeful in all we do • Need to have a USP • A Brand and Reputation that matches • League Tables • KIS • DHLE and other measures of success

  7. YOU HAVE THE ANSWERS • You understand the issues: – Why do we do it that way? – are we sure this is achieving the desired outcome? • Be prepared to innovate – reduce unnecessary tasks • Take balanced risks • Focus on the outcomes • WE NEED TO BE PREPARED TO CHANGE
