  3. Systems Engineering • Example Efforts: • Section 1201 DXFS. Currently working with USDOT to develop guidance for and the Data eXchange Format Specifications to comply with Section 1201 of SAFETEA-LU. • Agency-Specific System Engineering Courses. For New York State have developed a systems engineering course and have written several systems engineering analysis reports. • Concepts of Operations. Developed ConOps for numerous ITS Projects and ITS Standards • Requirements Development. Developed Functional Requirements for Seattle ICMS

ITS Architectures & Strategic Plans • Developed over 70 FHWA Rule 940/ FTA Policy–compliant regional ITS Architectures • Document ITS architectures on hyper-linked web sites, providing: • An intuitive, graphical view of desired ITS services • Link ITS Projects with the regional ITS architecture • (where in the ITS architecture is MY ITS project represented). • Have developed the ITS Architectures for • New Mexico Statewide • AMPA (Albuquerque) • Las Cruces • Santa Fe (Update nearing completion)

ITS Standards • Involved with the development, implementation and verification and validation of ITS Standards, including: • SAE J2735 DSRC Message Set Data Dictionary – Systems Engineering Version (Connected Vehicles) • Traffic Management Data Dictionary, Version 3.01 • NTCIP 1203 v3, Dynamic Message Signs • Developed Professional Capacity Building (PCB) ITS Standards Training modules- Check out the web based training!! • http://www.pcb.its.dot.gov/

Transit ITS Systems • Plan and design Transit Information Systems and technologies for planning, operations, and real-time applications deployed at transit agencies. • Support regional transit consortia in all aspects of planning for, assembling heterogeneous data sets, designing and deploying transit traveler information services such as trip planning and real-time arrival prediction. • Develop Transit Enterprise Architectures
