  2. Agência de Inovação is essencially dedicated to the promotion of innovation and technological development with a view to facilitating closer ties between research activities and the portuguese business sector.

  3. Administrative Protocol between Agência de Inovação and CERN, for the on-the-job training of Portuguese Technical Graduates, signed in 1996. • Agência de Inovação offers opportunities for advanced training to young portuguese graduates in CERN, in technological areas where the competence of this organization is internacionally recognised and that are of strategic importance for the increase in the competitiveness of portuguese companies.

  4. Training from 12 to 24 months at maximum. • Applications are considered by selection committees wich are organised by Agência de Inovação. • CERN gives the final approval.

  5. Areas of Training • Data Handling • Cryogenics • Instrumentation for Accelerators • Ultra-High Vacuum • Radiation Protection • Particle Physics Experiments • Development of Conventional ans Super-Conducting Magnets • Image Processing

  7. Financial support: Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education, through the Foundation for Science and Technology (1) CERN gives a complement of 500 CHF/month – first year and 800 CHF/month – second year
