  1. Validation of self-acquired learning and credits transfer in web design and computer animation - CREATE www.create-validate.org In the frame of “Leonardo da Vinci” sub-programme of the Lifelong Learning Programme of the EC. www.create-validate.org

  2. Validation of self-acquired learning and credits transfer in web design and computer animation - CREATE www.create-validate.org Dr. Rosen Petkov and ElitsaLicheva, National association SCAS, Bulgaria www.create-validate.org

  3. Why“web design”and“computer animation”? www.create-validate.org

  4. What is informal learningand why its recognition has become a priority? www.create-validate.org

  5. CREATE project: Aim CREATE project aimsat proposinginnovative methods and toolsfor assessment and validationof the results of informal learningin two creative professions – web design and computer animation. www.create-validate.org

  6. CREATE project: Target group • Organizations and institutions in VET (VET schools, VET centres), that offer validation of informal learning in web design and computer animation. The organizations can issue their own certificate that can be presented to the accrediting body which then can decide whether to recognize the results from the tools or not. • The project can also serve as a model for all organizations that would like to develop their own tools for assessment of informal learning in other professions. • All who would like to validate their informal learning in web design or computer animation. • The tools can also be used for self-assessment. www.create-validate.org

  7. CREATE project: Partners • Student Computer Art Society (SCAS), Bulgaria • National Agency for VET (NAVET), Bulgaria • DEKRA Akademie, Germany • Fastrack into IT, Ireland • National Student Information and Career Centre (NSICC), Bulgaria www.create-validate.org

Stage1: Units of learning outcomes Computer animation: More basic units: Unit 1: Principles of traditional animation Unit 2: Idea and scenario Unit 3: Environment and object design Unit 4: Human character design Unit 5: Rigging Unit 6: Animation Unit 7: Texturing and lighting Unit 8: Rendering More advanced units: Unit 9: Advanced character design Unit 10: Advanced animation techniques Unit 11: Advanced texturing and lighting techniques Unit 12: Advanced rendering Web design: More basic units: Unit 1: Planning Unit 2: Design Unit 3: Development Unit 4: Management (web sites management/maintenance) Unit 5: Optimization More advanced units: Unit 6: Interactivity and animation Unit 7: Introduction to database systems www.create-validate.org

  10. Stage2: Methods for assessment of the results of informal learning • Tests • Declarative methods • ePortfolio • Observation • Simulation • Evidences extracted from work practices www.create-validate.org

  11. Assigning methods for assessment to the units 1. Exploring the required knowledge, skills and competences, estimating which dominates in each unit 2. Selecting a proper tool or a combination of tools which clearly relate(s) to the mentioned knowledge, skills and competences. 3. Testing and adjusting the selected tools. www.create-validate.org

  12. Stage3: ECVET точки 1. What are the ECVET points? The numerical representation of the overall weight of learning outcomes in a qualification and of the relative weight of units in relation to the qualification. 2. How are ECVET points assigned to units of learning outcomes? www.create-validate.org

  13. Stage4: Online tools www.create-validate.org • E-games • Online interactive tests • ePortfolio www.create-validate.org
