  1. 3-D Human Posture Recognition System Using 2-D Shape Features Jwu-Sheng Hu, Tzung-Min Su, and Pei-Ching LinElectrical and Control Engineering Dept., National Chiao-Tung University, HsinChu, Taiwan, R.O.C. • An integrated framework for recognizing 3-D human posture from 2-D images is proposed in this work. • Fourier descriptors of the sampled points on the posture contour are calculated as the main and assistant feature. • A modified particle filter is applied to improve the robustness of human posture recognition for continuous monitoring. • The proposed framework is efficient in both human posture recognition and human behavior analysis.
