About ITC Oltenia Cluster Initiators:ARIES - Romanian Association for Electronic & Software Industry, ARoTT- Romanian Association for Technological Transfer, and Innovation, University of Craiova, Craiova Municipality, Business and Technological Incubator, Ro4Europe A total of 38 members. ITC Oltenia Cluster Scope: • Increase companies competitiveness in ICT sector • promote electronic and software products, innovation, research results in the field of technology transfer and development of institutional policy, • regional development through the interconnection of knowledge, technologies and people.

  3. S-W of Romania, the territory between the Danube, the Olt river and the Southern Carpathians. Oltenia region have 5 counties: • Dolj (Craiova), • Valcea (Ramnicu Valcea), • Olt (Slatina), • Gorj (Targu Jiu), • Mehedinti (Drobeta Turnu Severin). Oltenia Region • Its continuous development makes a powerful industrial center in the fields of: • automotive (Ford), • electrotechnical / ITC / energy industry, • electricity and power industries, • agriculture / bio-tech / food • tourism • chemical, • aeronautics, • extractive (lignite)

IPA Craiova, founded in 1980 with the specific research and development • 1992 - Technology and Business Incubator since 2004 (1st accreditation) • 1997 - Regional Node TTI - consulting finance EU projects; • 2004 - European Information Multiplier • 2006 - BSP - Business Support Provider, • 2006 - Initiates the Pole of Competitivness for Regional Development thru TTI • 2007- Initiator of ARoTT - Romanian Association for TTI • 2008 - RO4Europe, Enterprise Europe Network partner • 2008 - Vice President of National Commission for Innovation • 2008 - Consultant for business incubator Kladovo–Serbia, Pleven-Bulgaria • 2009 - Pole becomes “cross-border pole”; Romania-Bulgaria border region. • 2009 – Member of FP7 technical Committee Research in benefit of SMEs • 2010 – Member of Innova – TAKE-IT-UP Commision IPA CIFATT Craiova

ARIES - Oltenia • Founded in 2004, Oltenia Subsidiary (ARIES Oltenia) is the association of electronics and software companies in the S-W region of Romania. • The main objective of ARIES Oltenia is to improve cooperation relations between Romanian and foreign companies. • Many partners in the cross-border region Romania – Bulgaria • Activity domain: • Engineering, software and electronics R&D for automation and IT systems, e-content • "turn key" solutions for the developed systems • Consultancy and software distribution; cooperative work solutions (for projects, etc.), • Internet marketing and promotion, business consulting, multimedia, translation, • International projects: FP6/FP7, Riti Access, Eureka, Leonardo, Minerva, etc. • Coordinated more than 20 cross border projects Romania-Bulgaria becoming the main regional player.

Our role in the Cluster management • Identify members and region needs, international partners • Promote research and innovation as a strategy used by entities in order to improve competitiveness. • Ensure marked oriented research and development, innovation. • Organize meetings and events for cluster members. • Create partnerships • Offer support for strategies, TTI technologies, market events • Administrate research centers, education TT, public services training • Services for: research and innovation, intellectual property, internationalisation, promoting and financing

Pole of Competitiveness - Innov TT Oltenia Pole of Competitiveness - Innov TT Oltenia – Innovation and technology transfer supporting a sustainable regional development and increase of competitiveness. Purpose: Theincrease of theinnovation promotioncapacity, inventions, research, competitiveness, technology transfer as regional sustainable development politics through the interconnection of knowledge, technologies and people. Founded: December 2006 No of Partners: 30 (Local administration, Universities, Research and Innovation Centres, Regional Development Agency, Profesional Associations, Companies)

Mission • is integrant part of the regional policies that support research, innovation, invention, technology transfer, the founding and development of innovative SMEs, acknowledging their statute of “spine” of regional economy; • supports start-ups based on patent inventions, incubators, parks, clusters, with activity based on high added value. • promotes entrepreneurial formation, ethical behavior and the quality of services; • promotes the partnership of large companies, innovative SMEs, support entities, inventions, innovations, research in the benefit of the market.
