  4. Jesus in the Workplace Lessons Learned From The Brandon Price Experience • Notes: • 1. When conflicts arise, give yourself time to cool off before taking any action. • 2. Find out the other party’s personal and professional circumstances as a prelude to discovering the root causes for the conflict • 3. Pray about the whole situation and ask for God’s counsel in handling the situation. • 4. Ask yourself if your proposed reaction would glorify God and draw others to Him. • 5. Tactfully and privately talk things over with the other party. • 6. Listen actively • 7. Follow up on the person a couple of weeks afterwards and ensure that the agreement reached by both of you is still acceptable. • 8. Assess the other party’s productivity and team relationship with others and put support systems in place should they be needed • 9. Be willing to put the altercation behind you; ensure it does not affect any future decisions concerning that colleague. • 10. Be careful to allow the love and consideration of God be seen in you. 4 kdewulu@thecalebassembly.org www.thecalebassembly.org Monthly Meeting: Saturday 30th April, 2011.

  5. Jesus in the Workplace Lessons Learned From The Brandon Price Experience • Notes: • 1. Prayer: When someone has wronged you and your anger rises get back into the Word. James 1:20 – Human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. Eph 4:26 – In your anger do not sin; o not let the sun go down while you are still angry. • 2. Judgment: Remember judgment is reserved for God. Since we are not perfect our judgment is imperfect. Psalm 7:11 - God is a righteous judge, a God who displays his wrath every day. • 3.  Forgiveness: Forgive as many times as you are wronged. Mtth 18:21-22 - Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times. • 4. Second Chances: We should give people who have wronged us chance after chance to repent to perform better. John 8:7 - When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her. • 5. Forethought: If we take time to think before we lash out we are following his Word. Psalm 49:3 - My mouth will speak words of wisdom; the meditation of my heart will give you understanding. • 6. Leave it to God: Rom 12:18-19 - If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay, ”says the Lord 4 kdewulu@thecalebassembly.org www.thecalebassembly.org Monthly Meeting: Saturday 30th April, 2011.
