  3. Distractions • It takes only a few seconds to serve off the road, when you look down at your phone to send a text message.

  4. Penalty of Texting and Driving • If you do crash while texting and driving, it will not be considered an accident but wreckless driving just like drinking and driving you will be in trouble.

  5. Alternatives to texting and driving • Hand-free devices that allow drivers to make and receive phone calls without taking their eyes or mind off the road is the answer to the problem.

  6. Survey of texting and driving • A survey conducted by the Pew Internet & American Life Project found that nearly 43 percent of all teens of driving age admit to driving and texting.
