  7. Evening Visitor Scheme • Fear of centralised services felt by carers more than patients • A small number of people having big difficulties • 5 vehicles every night – Community Transport Glasgow • Phoneline everyday – SPT • Marketing - NHSGGC

  8. Evening Visitor Scheme • 7,927 passengers/15,854 journeys • £90,000 • Funded by Community Planning, SPT and NHSGGC • Extremely high satisfaction rates • Rolled out to other areas

RSVP – Retired and Senior Volunteers in East Renfrewshire • 34 Volunteers – 40 p a mile • 3000 patients a year/6000 journeys • Volunteer co-ordinator • Total costs c £24,000 • Funded by Community Health Partnership, Community Planning Partnership and SPT • Scheme is high quality and valued - escorted

  10. Vitality Exercise Classes • For older patients – recovering: • From heart disease • From fractures • Exercise, physio and confidence • 12 weeks transport to community classes • Door – door, friendly, confidence building • Glasgow, East Dun, Inverclyde and Paisley

  11. Opportunities • Flexibility to meet need • Costs – CT should either be cheaper or added value • Added value can be: door to door, friendliness, reliability, escorting

  12. Who to know? • Each Board has transport lead • Each RTP has NHS member • Each area has Scottish Ambulance Manager • Each NHS Board has a Community Health Partnership • Each NHS Board is a partner in community planning
