Measuring parameters of athletic performance
Statistical evaluation of test data
Maximum muscular strength
Anaerobic power/ maximum muscular power
Local muscular endurance
Parameters of Athletic Performance
300-Yd Shuttle Run
Edgren Side Step Test
Skinfold Measurements (chest, thigh, abdomen)
Skinfold Measurements (triceps, suprailium, midaxilla)
Skinfold Measurements (subscapula, calf)
Descriptive statistics (central tendency, variability, and percentile rank)
Select tests that measure the parameters most characteristic of the sport in question.
Choose valid and reliable tests to measure parameters, and arrange the testing battery to promote test reliability.
Administer the battery to as many athletes as possible.
Calculate percentile ranks to present a visual profile.
Evaluate the athlete based on percentile rank within the group and against the individual’s best performances over previous years.
