  1. 18th January 2007 The A&S Experience Richard Lester Change Management A&S Project Manager

  2. The A&S Repository Experience Why DRI? Guy Carpenter chose the DRI route to the A&S repository: • Control over information – workflow and audit controls • Removes unnecessary duplication of effort – single point of input • Consistant with our Electronic Claims File (ECF) approach • Makes effective use of our own repository • Enabled us to embed the process in to our business

  3. The A&S Repository Experience What did we do? • Project Team - An internal project team was established. • Business process – We reviewed our current premium process post slip production through to receipt of the signings. • Accounting Checks – We reviewed the bureau accounting checks and built these in to our system • System Changes - In partnership with our software supplier Trace Isys Limited the TWINS system was enhanced to create the A&S packages, integrated with our DMS and message handling software using DRI and the ACORD standards. This includes the new IPCBSM. • MAT – We were involved in Market Acceptance Testing and ran through a number of business scenarios end to end with Xchanging. • Live Pilot – We entered in to Live Pilot with Xchanging at the end of November with the first complete A&S DRI submission in the London Market. 620 A&S packages accepted by Xchanging as at last night.

  4. The A&S Repository Experience Who’s Using It? We have now raised the level of usage to 100% of all our XOL premium submissions using the Electronic Van. The new processes have been implemented, the software enhancements are all now Live and A&S Packages are going in to the Market Repository straight from our system.

  5. The A&S Repository Experience Benefits Realised? Guy Carpenter have been using the A&S Repository via DRI now for two months and are already seeing the benefits: • Efficient and quickerdelivery of documentation to Xchanging • Improved reconciliation of signing numbers and dates information • Earlier notification of signing numbers and dates • Improved error management process • Effective processes resulting in reduced error rates • Increased usage of De-Linking • Improved internal processes • Improved business controls

  6. The A&S Repository Experience Implementation Tips Tips for implementation: • Work closely with Xchanging on planning the roll-out • Build the accounting checks in to your system to reduce errors early on • Integrate the DRI process in to the processing systems • Test common scenarios with Xchanging end-to-end • Monitor every message for the first couple of weeks • Follow up issues immediately with the Xchanging implementation project manager.
