  1. Social Impacts of ict By Jagpal Rajoo

  2. The local community Development of ict in the local community • Everyone will have the latest technology because they will want to show off to others in their community what they got . Everything will be faster than others in the town, you can shop online and it will be cheaper than your local shops, you can work from home Disadvantage • If everyone does the same thing e.g. buying food online or clothes etc. All the business in the local community will shut down. You will also lose your social impact and everyone will lose their friends. you will lose your handwriting skills and how to speak. Advantage • The advantage side of ict in the local community is that everyone can be socialising online e.g. Facebook, twitter, msn etc. You can work from home but if need help you can ask anyone you work with on Facebook or twitter or any other social websites.

  3. Availability of jobs There are now more than 16 million internet shoppers in the UK, spending more than £17 billion each year, this will cause some business to shut down those who have lost their jobs to robots, but increased jobs by making robots. Disadvantage • If some business are done by humans and then replaced by robots e.g. sandwich making, engineering mechanics etc. Then the people who worked there will lose their jobs but if you’re an engineer then you are lucky. Advantage • You can work from home and start whenever you want and its less stressful. Others who apply for the same job can work in the actual shop or business its self and earn more money.

  4. Inequality in broadband access • Some people cant afford internet and so therefore they are missing out in a lot stuff e.g. jobs, fashion, their own business etc. But those who can afford internet they cant have because of where they are living i.e. countryside or in a village. Its also not fair that some businesses and organisations are using the Internet more and more when some people cannot get online. Online banking is getting more and more popular for those who have internet its nice and easy just putting money on their card whenever they need it, if this overloads normal banking (going into the actual bank) then those who don’t have internet cant put money when they need it and might even go in debt.
