What we do with your support We make homeownership affordable by building efficient and sustainable homes We provide critical programs and services through our partner agencies to the over 100,000 veterans who live on Long Island We change the lives of children and families and over 300,000 Long Islanders by supporting over 100 partner agencies We have provided hundreds of students with an education to finish high school and the means for a successful career Community Impact YouthBuild Energy Efficient Housing Mission United

WHAT WE DO WITH YOUR SUPPORT We provide emergency financial assistance to those struggling to pay their home heating bills We distribute over $5 million annually to support programs for those with HIV/AIDS We have provided hundreds of high school students with academic, cultural and enrichment scholarships to continue their advanced education Project Warmth DREAMS for Youth Ryan White Project

Captains - the heart and soul of a campaign Read all materials on United Way Visit www.unitedwayli.org Determine your reason for giving and share it with colleagues Make your own gift first Encourage gifts to the Community Impact Fund where you can make the most difference Number one reason people do not give – they are never asked Ask others to join you in making a gift Share the reason why you give Set a goal to secure new donors Meet one-on-one or in small groups Make sure everyone who needs a pledge form receives it Collect all pledge forms and return to your camptain Become Educated Give Distribute & Collect Ask
