  3. Health, Fitness and Exercise What is health? Health is the condition where the PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL and SOCIAL well-being of a person are in complete harmony with each other. Let’s look at the three in more detail.

  4. What is health? Health is the condition where the PHYSICAL, MENTAL and SOCIAL well-being of a person are in complete harmony with each other. PHYSICAL • You do not suffer from any illness or injuries. • Your heart, lungs and other body systems work well. EMOTIONAL • Being able to cope with problems. • Being able to control emotions. • Show self-respect and self-confidence. • - Cope with hard work (exams). The environment can mean the home, school, outdoor or any place or situation which demands action from you. If you can do all these tasks and activities without tiring too much and have enough energy to face a crisis,then you are fit. Let’s look at this in more detail.

What benefit is there in exercising? • Making: • the lungs work better; • the heart stronger; • the veins and the arteries work better; • the muscles stronger; • you feel good mentally / physically; • Allows the muscles to work longer without tiring; • Keeps the muscles in good condition; • Burns the excess body fat.

  16. What benefit is there in exercising? • People who regularly exercise are less likely to suffer from specific illnesses. • When you fall ill or suffer from an injury, you are strong enough to recover more quickly.
