  1. About Cayman Turtle Centre Cayman's largest land-based attraction, Cayman Turtle Centre: Island Wildlife Encounter hosts more than 200,000 visitors each year. Educational, cultural and entertainment programmes are consistently being created and updated to enhance the experience that can only be found at our world renowned attraction.

  2. Things to do in Cayman Islands One of the best things to do in Cayman Islands is to the Cayman Turtle Centre on a tour with friends and family. Here is the virtual tour to the Cayman Turtle Centre. The Breeding Pond is home to our green sea turtles who have matured and are at the age to start reproducing; which is usually at about 16 years of age.  Green Sea turtles are the largest of the sea turtles and here you will find a few weighing in at more than 500 pounds!

  3. Research & Conservation All wild turtles and eggs were obtained legally through official programs. Eggs and adult turtles were purchased from local legal collectors and fishermen and yearling turtles were returned for release. The last turtles for the breeding herd were obtained in 1975 and the last eggs collected in 1976. The first nesting occurred in 1973 by adults obtained from the wild. In 1975, the first turtles raised from eggs obtained from the wild reproduced. The first second generation captive turtles were hatched in 1989.
