Some facts on “Letter of the Law” Internet-project 1. “Letter of the Law” is an IP-TVproject which gives coverage to the new laws, latest precedents and legal nuances of running business in Belarus. 2. Means of communication: IP-TV broadcasting (live from studio). Users can watch the show using a web media player on TUT.BY web portal. 3. Launch date – November 2009. 4. Audience of the first program – 50 000 views. 5. Circulation of popular economic weeklies -15 000 copies. Question: How did we manage to make legal web-project popular from the first release?

  3. We combined 3 wishes: 1. Wish of Argument’s lawyers to spend a few non-billable hours + 2. Wish of business people to ask the State representativesquestionsand receive answers + 3. Wish of State representatives to gain popularity among Internet users and… + The biggest in Belarus news web-portal WWW.TUT.BY (1,5 million visitors per day).

  4. How do we communicate with a State representative? • Announcing a coming program on TUT.BY web-portal with invitation to send questions to the program’s guest via SkypeTM or Twitter. • 2. The program’s format is an interview with the State representative (live broadcasting via Internet). Questions may be sent directly to the studio by anonymous users. • 3. Publication of the program text version on TUT.BY web-portal (+ video) • 4. Users can place comments below the text version, hereby the State body receives feedback from the Internet users. • Almost no censorship.

  5. At the present time • The partner of “Letter of the Law” is the Supreme Economic Court of the Republic of Belarus (represented by its official monthly “Supreme Economic Court Bulletin”) • Participation in the program of the following representatives on a regular basis: • the Supreme Economic Court • the Supreme Court • the Ministry of Justice • the State Property Committee • The program’s rating is 20 000 – 150 000 views (text version and video) without notice of reprinting the materials by other web-sites.
