  1. Things that Please God 2 Corinthians 5:7-11

  2. 2 Corinthians 5:7-11 “For we walk by faith, not by sight. {8} We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. {9} Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. {10} For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. {11} Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences.”

  3. Things that Please God • Faith Pleases God • Heb. 11:5-6; 10:36-39; John 8:23-24

  4. Hebrews 11:5-6 “By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, "and was not found, because God had taken him"; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. {6} But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

  5. Hebrews 10:36-39 “‘For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: {37} For yet a little while, And He who is coming will come and will not tarry. {38} Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.’ {39} But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.”

  6. John 8:23-24 “And He said to them, ‘You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. {24} Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.’”

  7. Things that Please God • Faith Pleases God • Heb. 11:5-6; 10:36-39; John 8:23-24 • Living in the Spirit Pleases God • Rom. 8:5-8; Gal. 5:22-26

  8. Romans 8:5-8 “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. {6} For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. {7} Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. {8} So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.”

  9. Galatians 5:22-26 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, good-ness, faithfulness, {23} gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. {24} And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. {25} If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. {26} Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.”

  10. Things that Please God • Faith Pleases God • Heb. 11:5-6; 10:36-39; John 8:23-24 • Living in the Spirit Pleases God • Rom. 8:5-8; Gal. 5:22-26 • Being Fruitful Pleases God • Col. 1:9-12; Heb. 13:20-21

  11. Colossians 1:9-12 “For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; {10} that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; {11} strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; {12} giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.”

  12. Hebrews 13:20-21 “Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, {21} make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.”

  13. Things that Please God • Faith Pleases God • Heb. 11:5-6; 10:36-39; John 8:23-24 • Living in the Spirit Pleases God • Rom. 8:5-8; Gal. 5:22-26 • Being Fruitful Pleases God • Col. 1:9-12; Heb. 13:20-21 • Singular Devotion Pleases God • 2 Tim. 2:4; Matt. 6:33; 22:37

  14. 2 Timothy 2:4 “No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.”

  15. Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

  16. Matthew 22:37 “Jesus said to him, ‘“You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.”’”
