  3. Teaching for thinking(How to use this wheel) “To promote student thinking at various levels of Bloom’s, use the inner ring to identify the level of thinking and then select a verb from the middle ring. Link the verb selected from the middle level with a product listed in the outer ring to construct questions and assignments.” From Instruction for All Students by P. Rutherford (2002).

  4.   Latin I Myth Project Assignment: Research one of the Olympian gods, present your god to the class, and create a print advertisement for a product endorsed by your god. Students are given specific guidelines but here is the CRITICAL THINKING. Your advertisement will demonstrate your knowledge of your god’s domain and personality. It should include the following features: • product name • product slogan • an image of your god from classical or later art • a quotation from your god endorsing the product

  5. Latin II Roman History Research Project Assignment: Research a major figure in Roman history and, using a video camera and iMovie, produce a television interview with that character, focusing on one major event in his/her life. ***** Your group can choose the style of interview that you feel is most suitable to your character. Possibilities may include a talk show format, like Oprah or Jerry Springer, a news show format, like Dateline, or a pundit show format, like you might find on CNN. (Believe it or not, they would be using those critical thinking skills deciding which talk show would work best)

  6. I wish I had the video clip….. • Students did a Dr. Phil showing involving Dido and Aeneas. • Dido and Aeneas have an interesting relationship and a very interesting break up.
