  13. “OSHAD statement…” The requirements within both Codes of Practice regarding training are very clear: The training given shall be specific to the type of equipment the person is operating and shall be in accordance with internationally recognized training, such as The International Powered Access Federation – Powered Access License (PAL) or equivalent. So essentially it is our expectation that the training that operators shall receive shall be to the same level or higher of internationally recognized standards such as IPAF or equivalent. The reason we added this requirement was to ensure that the training provided is standardized, is audited by a recognized accreditation body for quality and assurance etc. Entities are not obliged to use IPAF, however it would be our expectation that they are able to demonstrate that the entity providing the training is accredited by a body to the same standard. This provides OSHAD with the assurance that the training is accredited, provided by a competent person and audited on a regular basis for quality and assurance.
