  14. Fellowship As Citizens in the Kingdom of God = Residents of His Holy Nation (Eph. 2:19) • As citizens in God’s kingdom: • We are richly set apart from the world (2 Cor. 6:17; Phil. 3:20) • We are richly ruled by the King of kings (1 Tim. 6:15) • We are richly blessed with “fellow-citizens” (Rom. 12:5) • We are richly promised a future glory (Phil. 2:10-11; 1 Cor. 15:24) 1 Corinthians 15:24 24  Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. 1 Timothy 6:15 (NKJV) 15  which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, Romans 12:5 5  so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. 19  Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 2 Corinthians 6:17 17  Therefore "Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you." Philippians 2:10-11 10  that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11  and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 3:20 20  For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,

  15. Matthew 5:16 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. • Fellowship As Sons in the Family of God = Members of His Household (Eph. 2:19) • As sons in God’s family: • We richly enjoy the privilege of knowing God as Father (Matt. 6:9; Jn. 1:12; 1 Jn. 3:2) • We richly enjoy the right of access to our Father(Heb. 4:16) • We richly enjoy great responsibility (Matt. 5:16) Hebrews 4:16 16Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. 1 John 3:22Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 19  Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, John 1:1212But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: Matthew 6:99In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven,Hallowed be Your name.

  16. Fellowship As Stones in the Building of God = Embodiment of His Habitation (Eph. 2:20-22) • As stones in God’s building: • We are richly built upon the apostles’ doctrine ( 1 Cor. 3:10-11) Ephesians 2:20-22 20having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone,21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, 22 in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit. 1 Corinthians 3:10-11 (NKJV) 10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. 11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

  17. Fellowship As Stones in the Building of God = Embodiment of His Habitation (Eph. 2:20-22) • As stones in God’s building: • We are richly alignedwith the chief cornerstone (Gal. 1:6-9) Galatians 1:6-9 6I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

  18. Fellowship As Stones in the Building of God = Embodiment of His Habitation (Eph. 2:20-22) • As stones in God’s building: • We are richly being fitted together (v. 21a; 1 Pet. 2:4-6) 1 Peter 2:4-6 4Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, 5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, “Behold, I lay in ZionA chief cornerstone, elect, precious,And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.” Ephesians 2:21a 21in whom the whole building, being fitted together,

  19. Fellowship As Stones in the Building of God = Embodiment of His Habitation (Eph. 2:20-22) • As stones in God’s building: • We are richly blessed as the dwelling place of God (1 Cor. 3:16) 1 Corinthians 3:16 (NKJV) 16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

  20. So What? Now What? Read and apply a parallel passage in 1 Peter 2:9-10 1 Peter 2:9-10 19 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

  21. Become a Citizen/Son/Stone in Fellowship with God • Believe Jesus is God’s Son (Mark 16:16) • Repent of your sins (Luke 13:3) • Confess your faith in Jesus (Matthew 10:32) • Be immersed into Christ (Galatians 3:27) • God will wash away your sins (Acts 22:16) • God will add you to His church (Acts 2:47) • God will write your name in heaven (Hebrews 12:23) • Walk faithfully in fellowship with Him (1 John 1:7)
