  1. NEW UTILITY BILL FOR CITY OF NEWTON The City of Newton is in the process of implementing a new Utility Billing System. As a result, the City of Newton would like to introduce a new, improved utility bill to our customers. The bill was designed to be more customer-friendly. This sample should help you understand the layout of the new bill. Customers are encouraged to review the sample below. For more information, contact a Customer Service Representative at (828) 695-4301. When paying by mail: detach the top portion of the bill, write in the amount paying, insert it into the envelope provided. Keep the bottom portion of your bill for your records. When paying in the office: bring the entire bill with your payment. Please write account number on check. Account identification number (also referenced below) for your utility service(s). Please refer to this number when communicating with Customer Service about your account. Total amount due, including any unpaid balances, if paid by due date Date payment is due to avoid late penalties Total amount due, including penalties, if paid after due date. Number Stamped on Meter The basic unit of measurement for service(s) KWH=Kilowatt Hours Gal=Gallons Detail of Service(s) Provided Summary of service(s) provided. Total amount due, including any unpaid balances. Messages for customers may appear in the box.
