  2. Pressing on toward the goals • 1) Novel curricula will be disseminated regionally and nationally • 2) Outreach students broaden impact of Graduate Fellows • 3) In-service / pre-service training • 4) Corporate partners Overarching theme: Communicating complex concepts of STEM

Novel curricula • Develop classroom test more novel curricula and lesson plans this year • A math or science coordinator should review them for standards • Fellows upload novel curricula & lesson plans to lvstem.cse.lehigh.edu (aka www.lehigh.edu/stem) • Fellows attending conferences should upload their conference papers • Teacher conferences? Other ideas?

  4. Outreach students • Formerly called Outreach Experiences for Graduates (OEGs) • PITA funding can support either undergrads or grads on an hourly basis • Learn a curriculum alongside a Fellow until he/she is ready to go to another school to help a teacher implement the curriculum • Teams will recruit and train their students and let Priyani know for payroll, etc.

  5. In-service/pre-service training • Flash workshop at Liberty High School • An LVCSTA (Lehigh Valley Computer Science Teachers Association) event • Wednesdays 3:30-5pm for five or six weeks starting September 10th? • Other in-service training ideas? • Need to get principal onboard, etc. • Pre-service assignments with College of Education students in the works • Also talk to your principal

  6. Corporate partners • Air Products at HMMS & Allen HS • PPL at Allen HS & Raub MS? • Crayola (formerly Binney & Smith) at Freedom? • Butz construction at Broughal MS? • Other ideas?
