  3. Notes • The flowering in plants is dependant on the length of the dark exposure. • The timing mechanism is phytochrome pigment – 2 types. Pfr (far red) Pr (red)

  4. Notes • Sunlight = more red light. • = more Pfr produced. • Darkness = Pfr slowly changes to Pr • = Some Pr remains.
