  2. Shutdown 2012 - 2013 Machine Status: • Proton Source Commissioning and Studies • RFQ Injector Line (RIL) • Linac • Booster • Main Injector • Tunnel work on Saturday • Power Supply studies on weekends TeV & Muon Rings – Partially available for tours with approval and appropriate training

MSS Bypass Project – Impact Areas • Project Completion Date • July 16th (Adding on additional PS3 work) • Main Ring Road Closure and Power Outages • Main Ring Road reduction at A1 (Restriction lifted on 7/16/13) • Power off to A1, A2, & A3 (Last power outage will be 7/15/13) • PS3 Power Outage • July 17th from 0800 – 1630 • Work in manhole to prepare for further work about 1.5 weeks away.

Kautz Road SubStation • Status • MI backfed from Master SubStation • Using Feeder 45 for MI conventional power which is normally T85 on KRS • We ordered 6+ new surge arrestors (4.7k each) from Hubbell and wait for delivery in ~1 week • Schedule a ~1 day KRS outage (not really an outage, we can’t run power supplies) to replace all surge arrestors on transformers T85 & T87 • There will be a 20 minute outage to remove the backfeed after the surge arrestors are installed

MI Startup Activities (~1 Week) • Turn on power supplies and establish ramps • Establish 8 Gevbeam • Match MI8 line lattice with IPM • Tune abort line @8 Gev • Establish 120 Gevbeam • Smooth orbits up the ramp • Tune abort line @ 120 Gev • High field Orbit smoothing (quad moves)  • Requires tunnel access (2x8 hrs) • Calibrate tune table • MI8 line lattice matching • Dedicated beam study • Extraction line tune up (NuMI) • Tune up for operation • Deliver low intensity beam to NuMI beam line for target scans • Estimated to take an additional week after MI is tuned up for operations
