For Your Information……. • IHS ENROLLMENT • - Enrollment Conference with IHS Advisor April 30 or May 1 (plan ahead for parking and time to complete enrollment process) - Conference appointment information on packet envelope - 9th grade enrollment based on: • 7th grade CST scores • 8th grade performance • 8th grade TEACHER recommendations • Algebra Readiness test results (where tested) • BRING TO ENROLLMENT CONFERENCE/ TA APPOINTMENT… - Course Request Packet with Course Request Worksheet (page 7) filled out (Please use pencil on the worksheet) - Athletics Interest form, if applicable, and Student Health Inventory filled out • STUDENTS NEW TO IRVINE OR ARRIVING FROM PRIVATE SCHOOLS - Contact Sylvia Howard, Counseling Secretary, at 936-7003

For Your Information……. • Required Credits: ALL Freshmen must be enrolled in 60 credits, including: - Recommended academics - Freshman PE / Team Sports - Electives • Additional credits may be selected from: - The OPEN ENROLLMENT courses, listed in the right- hand column of the Course List (page 6) in the Incoming 9th Grade Course Request Packet.

  11. Physical Education • Freshman Co-ed P.E. • Team Sports - by season, cut vs. non-cut Incoming 9th graders may initially enroll in “non-cut” sports, but can also try out for “cut”-sports. If a student makes the team of a “cut”-sport, their schedule will be adjusted at a later date. Refer to page 6 of the 9th Grade Course Request Packet and the green Athletic Interest Form. (Please consider carefully the time and energy commitment involved in athletic competition.)
