  2. Comanche Indians Comanche groups did not have a single acknowledged leader (Crystal). Instead, a small number of generally recognized leaders acted as counsel and advisors to the group as a whole (Crystal). These included the peace chief, the members of the council, and the war chief (Crystal). Gus

  3. Who was the chief? The chief’s name was Quanah Parker(Crystal,2006). He was born in 1845 and lived for 65 years and died in 1911 (Crystal). Abhi

  4. What were the customs? When a young man was sent away from his tribe with a few things to await his visions(Crystal,2006) The visions were to show him the direction of life and to reveal symbols, he waited 4 days(Crystal,2006). Now nobody is able to reveal the direction of life unless given permission(Crystal,2006) Now people go to find out there direction of life (Crystal). Abhi

  5. Where did they get the supplies for their shelter? Every spring the hunting tribes made new tepees of buffalo hides that had been fitted, sewn together, and painted with designs (Warren 40-41). Marsden

  6. Comanche clothing The Comanche Indians made their clothes out of Buffalo hide such as in the pictures (Crystal). Gus

  7. What would happen if a women was taking child birth while they were moving? • If a women was taking child birth while they were moving she would stop and go off to the side and take birth to her child and the several hours later she would catch up (Crystal). Coleman

  8. Comanche Shelter In the summer the Comanche Indians lived in tepees or brush lodges (Banks et al.). Gus

  9. How did the Comanche hunt Buffalo? • Indians who lived in Texas. The Comanche hunt by a young boy scouting the buffalo, after that parties of hunters encircle them and a bareback rider come up to it and shoots an arrow into it’s flank downward and sometimes they will drive them over a cliff and if the don’t die from the fall they will shoot them or spear them after the fall (Warren 42-43).
