Early Stages • Preliminary/ Formal Proposal “For my senior project I plan to conduct an in depth analysis of ancient Greek mythology and recreate a myth in a contemporary setting using my own literary voice.” • Understanding the Collective Unconscious The Collective Unconscious is the idea that we are all connected through an inborn predisposition to certain feelings and behaviors. Mythology is man’s guideline of the Collective Unconscious.

  6. Process • Choosing a myth • Developing Characters • Developing Plot • Short Story to Novella to Novel • Multiple revisions

  7. Challenges • Choosing the setting for my story. • Keeping Coherence in the plot and among various characters. • Self revising and transferring edits.

  8. Discoveries • I really enjoy writing. • I can write an 102 page story. • Ideas come from experience.
