First, a Note on the Engineering Buildings The Engineering complex consists of two main buildings, connected by a walkway on the second and third floors: • Engineering Bldg. 1, also called “Bldg. D” (This is the “south” or the “old” Engr. Bldg., labeled as Bldg. 579 on campus maps). • Engineering Bldg. 2, also called Bldg. “D3” (This is the “north” or the “new” Engr. Bldg., labeled Bldg. 581 on campus maps). Examples: W316-D3 (Prof. Wosik) W122-D3 (our class)

  4. A Note on the Engineering Buildings (cont.) Note: A room that begins with E or W is in building D3. E means east of the main hallway, W means west of the main hallway. A room that beings with N or S is in building D. N means north of the “commons” area, S means south of the commons area. Easy way to find north on campus: look for the architecture building (the one with the “Greek columns”).

The Board of Regents is the governing body of the University of Houston System as authorized by the Texas Legislature according to Section 111.11 of the Texas Education Code. The Board of Regents consists of nine members. Each serves a six-year term. In addition to overseeing faculty hiring, promotion, and tenure, the Provost works with faculty to effect curriculum development.
