What do we do? Lance and I brainstormed! All kinds of ideas.
4. What we did…Came up with a plan to visit with an eighth grade Earth Science class at the Napoleon School to teach the kids about GPS technology and see where they would take it. Took the Technology Ag Mag into the classroom and had the kids answer a quiz we devised (see handout)
Took GPS units into the classroom and had the students complete the Determining Speed side of the handout.
The kids decided geocaching would be the way they wanted to go
5. What is Geocaching? Geocaching is treasure hunting where GPS units are used to find cache containers. A world wide phenomenon, geocachers from around the world travel to discover hidden treasures.
Once at a site, participants have the opportunity to learn about that community and contribute to the local economy.
