LEARNING OBJECTIVES • Students are able to identify information in a recount text in order to understand the meaning. • Students are able to understand the rhetorical ways in developing recount written text. • Students are able to express various meanings in developing the appropriate written rhetorical ways in recount texts. • Students are able to understand some grammatical features of a recount text especially simple past tense. • Students are able to construct a good recount text.

  7. Definition:A recount text tells us about past events. It could be someone’s experiences, someone’s life in the past, and the history of something.Social function :To retell events for the purpose of informing or entertaining.Generic structure:Title(optional)It usually summarizes the next and informs specific participants.OrientationIt provides the background information. It answers the questions: who? When? Where? Why? What experience?EventsIt presents events: what people do? It tells the event chronologically. It uses conjunctions or connectives like first, next, then, finally etc. They show the sequence of events. The final event is humorous or a situation that makes the reader smile or laugh.ReorientationIt presents the concluding comments. It expresses the author’s personal opinion regarding the events described.

He can enjoyed beautiful scenery and saw the culture of Bali. In the New Year Rocky went to Bali to spent his holiday. He visited a lot of interesting place whole around the island by car. The first day in the morning, he visited Tanah Lot and spent his evening in Kuta beach.
