Administrative Actions from SAM 2005 • Finalize Operation Guide and submit to CPDPE • Completed and submitted in August 2005 • Approved by CECD at IMECE 2005 • Organize monthly conference calls • Held conference calls each month between July and October 2005 • Create one-page overview of CECD for distribution • Completed but unsure of distribution

New Actions from SAM 2005 • Review current program and services • Reviewed ME Today, FasTrack, Career/Life Guide and YEF on CoP and at October YE Stakeholder Workshop • Participate in Young Engineers Stakeholder Workshop in Arlington, VA • Four CECD members participated in Workshop in October 2005 • Review The Unwritten Laws of Engineering and submit comments to Old Guard • Completed and reviewed with David Cook at IMECE 2005 (see attached slides)

  4. Actions from IMECE 2005 • Held joint meeting with CSD / SSC on November 5th • Reviewed and commented on outcomes from YE Stakeholder Workshop – report to follow in Minutes • Each CECD Committee to work on a specific actions between now and SAM 2006: • Career: • Review Career/Life Guide and other Career websites on asme.org before/after website update; give suggestions for consolidation • Compile data and create better best practices toolbox to support “socialization leads to networking” • Technical: • Develop action plan for creating local Young Engineer Technical Forums (YETF) • Benchmark current/past Technical Symposiums • Professional: • Work with Jack Whitehead and T&S Division on developing action plan for an “Engineering Leadership” Track at IMECE 2006 • Investigate how ASME is promoting professionalism to industry and its members

Actions from IMECE 2005 • Continue review of The Unwritten Laws with specific suggestions for changes • Submit current review and comments to Old Guard • Work with staff to compile database of YE events that have occurred in the last 2-3 years • Local YEFs, Technical Symposiums, activities noted on Section Activity Reports, etc. • Review information compiled from YE Initiative Survey and follow-on Workshop

  6. Administrative Actions from IMECE 2005 • Chris Trangsrud elected as Vice Chair of CECD • Mandy Brogden elected as SSC Representative to CECD • Sara Zajac and Adrianne Prysock elected as Members-at-Large • CECD to request that “Thank you” letters be sent out to employers for member’s IMECE attendance with reference to SAM 2006 • Loretta has list of work addresses for CPDPE
