  4. Warming-up Activities- leading – in Suggested answer: Panic might be many people’s reaction. As for me, I would never think it would be the end of the world. Instead, I would make a scientific schedule for the week. In the first place, I’ll make good use of knowledge , such as reading my favorite novels, magazines and newspapers. In the second place, I’ll have a good rest by taking all kinds of entertainments, such as playing cards, playing ball games and cycling .

  5. Warming-up Activities- leading – in Suggested answer: Many people say they cannot imagine what life would be like without TV. However, there are many things to do other than watch TV. For instance, we can spend more time with our family members, or invite our friends to come over and play cards, we can also help mother cook meal or even clean out our rooms. More- over, we can invite our beloved to go shopping or go to see a film. In sum, we may find many interesting things to do beside watching TV.

  6. Warming-up Activities-Exploring the Topic Questions & Answers 1. What are the advantages of TV ? key 2. Does TV do any harm to us? key

  7. Warming-up Activities-Exploring the Topic Suggested answer: There are many advantages of TV. First of all, it is a cheap way of getting information. Second, people can watch film, shows and games without leaving home. Third, it offers educational programs such as English learning programs. Last, people can hear news about different parts of the world. In a word, watching TV is very beneficial to us.

  8. Warming-up Activities-Exploring the Topic Suggested answer: Watching TV is very harmful to us. There are some reasons for that. The main reason is that it makes people lazy as they stay at home watching TV all the time. What’s more, it makes people less creative because they just watch other people doing things on TV. Besides, people lack communication — they have no time talking to friends or family members. Even worse, children are easily influenced by the violence shown on TV.

  9. Warming-up Activities-Background Information Gift Certificate: Gift certificate/cards can be used just like money. Many companies, stores and restaurants offer this kind of cards. In the United States, in sending gifts to their friends, relatives and so on, some people would prefer gift certificates/cards to things like toys or flowers. In this way the recipient(接收者) can use the card to buy something she or he really likes. Gift cards and Certificates can be purchased in the stores and online(网上) as well.
