  13. Start-up Challenge

  14. Why Startups? • Start-ups have proven to be quite successful in cracking open challenging problems across various sectors • By developing and testing new products and services along with new business models, entrepreneurs often have the flexibility to look at an old problem in a new and creative way to efficiently scale solutions • When it comes to housing in general and affordable housing in particular, we believe that public sector initiatives alone are not sufficient to drive sector changes that will be required to meet the growing housing deficit.

  15. NAYA PAKISTAN HOUSING START-UP CHALLENGE: • We’re looking to work with businesses that are ready to scale and have solutions to the problems faced by the construction industry today. We have three challenges, • Smart Materials; • Data; • People. • Showcase how your startup can provide a solution to one of these problems and win a place on a (six-week) accelerator in Pakistan with mentoring from senior executives from leading corporate sponsors in the country and opportunity to raise funds.

  16. SMART MATERIALS CHALLENGE: • The Smart Materials Challenge is focused on implementing new tools and resources into the construction industry helping it to become more productive and reduce its carbon footprint. • We are particularly interested in finding startups that have a focus on: • Sustainability • Waste reduction • Improving safety • Saving time and money • Preventing failures

  17. DATA CHALLENGE: • For this Data challenge, we want to know how we can better capture data and then what the best way to learn from it is. To innovate, the construction industry needs to improve the flow of data between architects, engineers and site teams. • We're particularly interested in startups that have products or services in: • Real-time monitoring; • Performance and resource management; • Supply chain analysis.
