  1. Timeline of Technology By Emilio Reta

  2. The First Computer and Upgrades • The Z1 was built by KonradZuse in • The Z3 was built in 1941 also by KonradZuse. • The Z3 was the first fully functional computer of the world. • The Z3 was built in 1941.

  3. The Colussus • Was built in 1943 • Was the first electronical digital computer. • Alan Turing built the Colussus • Is the third computer of the world.

  4. The Colussus Mark 2 • Was built during World War 2 • Destroyed after the war because the Colussus Mark 2 was built to decipher languages • Is the fourth computer of the world.

  5. The Minicomputer • In 1970 the Minicomputers were costing less than $25,000 in USD. • Usually took up one or a few 19-inch rack cabinets. • Were also known as midrange computers. • Were made in the 1960’s

  6. The Mainframe Computer • Are powerful iron computers • Saves as much data as the census, statistics, resource planning, and more. • Houses the CPU.

  7. Microcomputers • Were popular in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s but was made in the 1960’s. • The Microcomputer usually came with at least one type of data storage which was usually RAM.

  8. RAM • Before RAM computers used relays or delay lines for memory. Ultrasonic delay could only reproduce written data in order. • First form of RAM was Williams tube in 1947 storing data as electrically charged spots on the face.

  9. The First Megabit • IBM uses first Megabit. • Stores up to 1 million bits of information.
