Entitlement regulatory priority

Entitlement (Regulatory Priority)

Surviving Spouse or Common-law Partner of:

  • An employee

  • Regular Force CF member

  • Class A, B, or C Reserve Force

  • CF Special Force

  • RCMP member

  • Reserve RCMP


Criteria

Criteria

  • Death attributable to performance of duties

  • Qualifies for compensation / benefits (provincial labour requirements or CF benefits)

  • Not already a public service employee


Application

Application

  • Retroactive to 7 October 2001

  • Corporate staffing DND will administer all entitlements for department (CF and civilian)

  • 2 year qualifying period to register for entitlement

  • 2 year priority period
