  1. Surviving Spousal or Common-Law Priority • PSER (8.1)

  2. Entitlement (Regulatory Priority) Surviving Spouse or Common-law Partner of: • An employee • Regular Force CF member • Class A, B, or C Reserve Force • CF Special Force • RCMP member • Reserve RCMP

  3. Criteria • Death attributable to performance of duties • Qualifies for compensation / benefits (provincial labour requirements or CF benefits) • Not already a public service employee

  4. Application • Retroactive to 7 October 2001 • Corporate staffing DND will administer all entitlements for department (CF and civilian) • 2 year qualifying period to register for entitlement • 2 year priority period
